In fact, we've formulated this sunscreen specifically for sensitive skin and the unique ingredients have a very low allergy risk.

Directions

That plus + sign after the SPF 50 means that this sunscreen tested higher than 60.  In fact, it tested at SPF 68! It has the maximum PA++++ rating which means you are well protected from UVA as well as UVB.

Apply liberally to skin at least 20 minutes before going outside.  Even though this is a maximum protection sunscreen, you need to reapply at least every 2 hours and after swimming, exercise or towel drying.

As with all our sunscreens, it is safe to use on the face and around the eyes.  But do not get it into your eyes because, like most things you get in your eye, it will sting.

And remember our sunscreens are some of the best but you should always be careful out in the New Zealand and Australian sun.

Be Sun Smart. Cover up with clothing, sunhat and sunglasses and stay in the shade (when possible) during peak burn time (10am to 4pm).

A good organic physical screen but leaves a very white colour

I have changed from Oasis beauty spf 30 to the Oasis Sun spf 50 recently in this changing of the season. Spf 50 means that you can stay under the sun for 50 munites. The formula for this products seem gentle and it's organic. The only drawback is that it is very thick and it left a very white tint even after rubbing into the skin.

Disappointed

I purchased this sunscreen with the intention of using it as a daily sunscreen to apply to my face. I had determined that it was a better choice than the Oasis family SPF30 sunscreen, because it reaches the highest standard of UV-A protection (PA++++).

The big let down is that this sunscreen is in fact water resistant, so you'll need to use a cleanser in the evening to strip the sunscreen off your face. unfortunately this also ends up stripping off all the natural protective oils from your skin, leading to irritation. With the Oasis family SPF30 you could simply wash all the sunscreen off your face with plain warm water.

The sunscreen doesn't mention anywhere on the label that it is in fact water resistant. It simply says in small print to "reapply every 2 hours, after swimming". I wish the labeling had been clearer and perhaps stated something along the lines of "2 hours water resistant".

This sunscreen would be good for exercise (when you're sweating) or for a day out swimming, but is completely useless for daily use.

the sunscreen is only slightly more whitening than the Oasis family SPF30, but it's hardly noticeable IMO and wasn't an issue for me.

Reply from Oasis Beauty New Zealand

Hi Geoffrey, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you. The Ultra is a different formulation to the SPF30 and is a bit harder to get off but this is a compromise we had to make to get the highest UVA & UVB ratings attainable.

Great Sunscreen

This is an excellent sunscreen. I've made using this a regular part of my everyday morning beauty routine this summer & have found it works a treat. Coverage took a bit to get use to due to the white colour it leaves on the skin, this does eventually disappear, at least you know where you have applied sunscreen!!

Have defiantly felt protected from the sun when using this sunscreen during this beautiful summer.

this sunscreen is a winner for PMLE sufferers

Ok here are my thoughts. I suffer from polymorphic light eruption big time and absolutely fell in love with this suncreen. Im a huge proponent of the "layering" system and will start with a DNA repair enzyme cream or vitaminc c serum (antioxidants)

On super hot days I'll stick with Biodermas milk physical liquid sunscreen as it sticks extremely well. It is a purely physical sunscreen thats 20% zinc concentrate but like all zinc sunscreens that are heavy in that dosage you get a terrible whitecast that is aesthetically unpleasing. So naturally I only apply a little bit

But I finish my routine with Oasis Sun SPF 50+ Ultra Protection Sunscreen. This sunscreen spreads really nicely to cover the remaining regions of skin that are exposed to the sun. Yes, my skin care routine is excessive but is neccesary to enjoy an outdoor experience without any allergic responses and the UVA/UVB protection is phenomenal on those blistering hot and dry days

On hot and humid days I would recommend the Oasis Sun SPF 40+ sport Sunscreen instead of the oasis ultra 50+ where i would know im sweating lots through the day.

on days where the sun ain't intense, overcast or winters I would fully go with either Oasis sport or ultra series .

No universal sunscreen fits the bill for every outdoor condition but I will religiously add this one to my collection. The amount of chemical and physical filter actives is insane.

Very good sun block!

Excellent sun screen. Just a bit hard to rub on and spread. However it does what I need, which is a sun block.
